I can't see prices on the Website. How much do the products cost?
We don't guess, we calculate. Every solution is unique and tailored to your project's needs. Our consultations are thorough and never pressured. We rather get a good understanding of your requirements and present accordingly
Is there a size chart available?
All products are manufactured custom to your application, and there are no standard or block sizes. For Minimum and Maximum sizes, please visit the product's page or give us a call or e-mail us at: info@bonshade.com
What are the maintenance requirements of the products?
Are the products waterproof?
Absolutely, our Pergolas and sun shades are built for our climate and can withstand Vancouver's rains. Screens are also available with sensors that will make the screens retract when it starts to rain, prolonging the life of your screens
Are the Pergolas watertight?
The Blades of the Louvers atop the pergolas have an interlocking system, which takes the water onto the lateral channels, and down drains that are cleverly hidden on the vertical columns. Enjoy year-round outdoors with one of our Pergolas today
How long is the installation?
Pergolas take 3-4 days on average, and Screens can be mounted in 1-2 days, depending on the number of screens. Our project managers will be happy to tailor the crew size to the duration you may have in mind for your project
What is the snow load rating of the Pergolas?
It depends on the size of the pergola we have designed for you. This will be clearly stated on the shop drawings.
How do exterior shades compare to interior shading?
Exterior shades block 80% of the heat before it enters your home. Interior shades, by contrast, can only block about 20% of the heat gains, depending on the product. Once the sunlight is through your window, most of the damage has been done, so to speak. Exterior Blinds will provide measurable cooling and comfort, eliminate glare, and reduce cooling costs.
Does BonShade provide design assistance?
Absolutely, we pride ourselves on the quality of our technical staff, and we can guide your design or undertake the complete design of our products onto your structure. A full set of shop drawings is included with every product.
Does Bonshade offer Installation services?
All products are offered as supply and install, inclusive of all design and permits if required. Simpler products like the Loggia screens and products adapted to multi-residential buildings can be offered with an installation assist to make the products affordable for your project.
Is there a color chart available?
Our products are offered in all standard RAL colors, and we offer more colors than any other brand of products. There is a color that matches your design expectations, guaranteed.
Can the products be retrofitted into existing construction?
Absolutely, every case is unique, and we will design all building connections to safeguard the integrity of your envelope. There are also stand-alone products options
Can the products withstand strong winds?
Absolutely. Screens are rated for 130km/hr winds and can be outfitted with sensors, so they retract in the event of a major weather event.
Do we need any engineering to use the product?
In some cases, there is a need for adjacent construction, such as building connections or foundation supports. In most cases, we can work with what you have. Bonshade engages third-party engineering professionals on your behalf as needed to insure your project and products function and last as intended
Can Louvers be installed onto the building without columns?
The Louvered pergolas can be outfitted to the building structure or atrium. This will require an engineering review to ensure it can support the weight. These integrations can be beautiful, and we fully support them.
Are there blackout screens available?
Most products have fabric options that provide full black-out. With the guide channels and taught weight of the screen, we guarantee you'll sleep free of any bleeding light.
Are there Automation options?
Oh yes! You can connect your products to home automation systems, and we separately offer remote controls, rain sensors, and sun sensors to draw the screens down when the temperatures rise and automatically keep your home cool, and much more. Please reach out to go over all available options.
